We loved Steve's warm welcome, and his care for the people staying and also dining. They obviously run a tight ship. The restaurant under the rooms is popular and well managed. The food is great, and arrives fairly promptly. Dogs are welcome and all the staff seem to care. The room we stayed in was clean, had a nice bed, and is spacious - there was room to do our physio in the morning. Water pressure in the showers was good, and there were decent sized cups available for teas and coffees. The sound of the steam railway is a bonus :) - For dinner in the restaurant, pay attention to the offers, they have something different every night - on our night they were doing 2 lots of fish and chips for £25, so it's worth checking what's on.

We liked the location, lovely and quiet. The room was big with a Juliet balcony and French doors. After a warm day, it was nice to have them open all night. The food was lovely, as was the cider. Nice beer garden, plenty of tables, pleasant music playing, and nicely lit when it starts to get dark, giving a nice ambience. Breakfast was included and was really nice. Have whatever you like. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were great. Very lovely place to stay, and we can't wait to go back! Thank you, sea trout inn. You have a great place.

Lovely old pub! Surprised at how lovely the room was for the price we paid. Would love to have eaten here, but we were meeting friends at Riverford Organic Cafe(very close by) for a birthday celebration. A big thank you to Matt who checked us in, He tried to get us a taxi to the restaurant, but they are pretty scarce, so we drove there and he kindly offered to take us back the next morning to collect our car if we were able to get a lift back!

Louise

I liked the decor of the bathroom, and the staff was very polite, especially Brandon the general manager, he was excellent and went above and beyond to make stay enjoyable. Very nice scenery from bedroom and two doors opened to a balcony. Dinner in the evening, served by Brandon was very nice and Breakfast in the morning was tasty served by Victoria. Good WiFi speed so I could do my Microsoft team digital calls for work

Oliver

Comfy warm and cosy. Our son did a charity walk from Cornwall to Kent in Dec23, and the Sea Trout welcomed the weary walker with open arms, some food and a very welcome donation to his charity cause (MND-Doddie Weir), so we were “sold” anyway. The food was lovely. Good basic tasty grub which was VFM! So thanks to Matt and team
